No-Prep Activity
* Works best with fewer DM scriptures
* Makes the kids really think about the meaning of the scripture.
* Ended up being one of the most effective ways for students to remember the scriptures.
Set-Up:
Have the students brainstorm about 15 person, places or things. Write them on the board.
Make pairs or groups of 3 and give each team a pen and paper and list of the DM scriptures with the key words.
Game:
For each DM scripture:
1) Ask students to determine which item on the board best represents that scripture and why.
This can be for the actual scripture reference (like associating the book, chapter, verse) or key words.
2) Each pair/groups writes the answer on their paper (so there can be no switching)
3) Have each group explain share their selection and why.
* The internal team dialogue is as important as the teams explaining to the others (and there will be debate) .
4) Keep a tally next to the item on the board.
5) Teams who selected the item with the most tallies earn a point.
6) Erase the tallies and move on to the next scripture. The same item can be reused.
7) If no item had the most, nobody gets a point.
